EZ Bar Seated Close Grip Concentration Curl

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the EZ Bar Seated Close Grip Concentration Curl.

MediumBiceps

About this exercise

The EZ bar seated close grip concentration curl is performed seated with elbows braced against the inner thighs, using a close grip on the EZ bar. This setup isolates the biceps by eliminating momentum and shoulder involvement, while the angled handles reduce wrist strain and shift emphasis to the long head of the biceps.

How to Perform

  • Sit at the end of a bench with feet flat on the floor and spread wider than the bar
  • Grip the inner handles of the EZ bar with an underhand close grip
  • Lean forward slightly and brace both elbows against your inner thighs
  • Let the bar hang between your legs at arm's length
  • Curl the bar upward toward your chin by contracting the biceps, keeping your upper arms stationary
  • Squeeze the biceps at the top of the movement
  • Lower the bar in a slow, controlled manner back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
