About this exercise

A standing stretch that targets the triceps and upper arm by fully extending the arms overhead. Reaching both arms upward and lengthening through the elbows decompresses the shoulder joint and relieves tension in the back of the upper arm.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and spine neutral
  • Raise both arms straight overhead, interlacing the fingers if possible
  • Press your palms upward and extend fully through the elbows, actively lengthening the arms
  • Hold the stretch, breathing steadily
  • Lower the arms slowly and repeat as needed
