About this exercise

The exercise ball leg curl is a bodyweight hamstring exercise performed lying on your back with your feet resting on a stability ball. Rolling the ball toward your hips challenges both the hamstrings and glutes while demanding significant core stability throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with your arms at your sides and your heels resting on top of a stability ball
  • Press your heels into the ball and lift your hips off the floor to form a straight line from shoulders to heels
  • Keeping your hips elevated, curl your heels toward your glutes by bending your knees
  • Roll the ball as close to your hips as comfortable
  • Pause briefly at the top, then extend your legs to roll the ball back out under control
  • Keep your hips raised throughout the entire set
  • Lower your hips to the floor only after completing all repetitions
