EasyCalves

About this exercise

The elevated standing calf raise is performed with the balls of your feet on a raised step, allowing a deeper stretch at the bottom compared to a flat-surface raise. This extended range of motion maximises gastrocnemius and soleus development.

How to Perform

  • Stand with the balls of your feet on the edge of a step, heels hanging off the back
  • Hold a wall or rail lightly for balance
  • Lower your heels as far below the step as is comfortable to feel a full calf stretch
  • Drive up onto your toes as high as possible, squeezing the calves at the top
  • Hold the peak contraction for a brief moment
  • Slowly lower your heels back below the step level for the next rep
