About this exercise

A bodyweight cardio and core exercise performed in a push-up position with hands elevated on a bench. The inclined angle reduces intensity slightly compared to floor mountain climbers while still challenging the core and hip flexors.

How to Perform

  • Place both hands on a flat bench, slightly wider than shoulder-width, arms fully extended
  • Extend your legs behind you so your body forms a straight line from head to heels
  • Brace your core and keep your hips level throughout the movement
  • Drive one knee toward your chest, then quickly switch legs in a running motion
  • Continue alternating legs at a controlled or fast tempo for the set duration
  • Keep your shoulders stacked over your wrists and avoid letting the hips rise or sink
