About this exercise

A dynamic chest and shoulder mobility drill where you bring both elbows together in front of the chest and then open the arms outward in a controlled throwing motion, activating the pectoral and deltoid muscles through a full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart and arms raised to shoulder height, elbows bent to 90 degrees
  • Bring both elbows together to meet in front of your chest, squeezing the pecs
  • Explosively open your arms outward and back, as if throwing both elbows behind you
  • Pause briefly at the end range to feel the chest and shoulder stretch
  • Return your elbows back together in front of the chest under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
