A dynamic side plank variation that combines an isometric hold with a lateral crunch, bringing the top elbow and knee together to powerfully contract the obliques. The exercise builds lateral core strength and stability while challenging anti-rotation control throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Set up in a side plank on your forearm with your body in a straight line from head to feet
  • Stack your feet or stagger them for additional stability
  • Place your top hand behind your head and extend your top leg slightly forward
  • Simultaneously bring your top elbow and top knee toward each other in a crunching motion
  • Squeeze your obliques at the point of contact and hold for a moment
  • Return your elbow and knee to the starting position in a controlled manner
