About this exercise

A corrective mobility drill designed to restore or improve full elbow extension range of motion. Limited elbow extension is common after injury or periods of inactivity, and this drill gently works the joint through its available range to progressively increase straightening capacity.

How to Perform

  • Stand or sit upright with your arm at your side, elbow bent at a comfortable angle
  • Slowly straighten the elbow as fully as possible, reaching toward complete extension
  • Pause at end range for 2–3 seconds, applying gentle overpressure with the other hand if needed
  • Slowly bend the elbow back to the starting position with control
  • Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions, then switch arms
