About this exercise

The dumbbell standing wrist reverse curl targets the forearm extensors by curling both wrists upward with an overhand grip on a pair of dumbbells. Using dumbbells allows each hand to move independently, helping to identify and correct strength imbalances between the outer forearms.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a dumbbell in each hand with an overhand (palms-down) grip
  • Let your arms hang in front of your thighs, elbows slightly bent
  • Allow your wrists to drop toward the floor to fully stretch the forearm extensors
  • Curl both wrists upward as far as possible, contracting the forearm extensors at the top
  • Lower the dumbbells back slowly under control to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
