About this exercise

The dumbbell standing wrist curl isolates the wrist flexors and the inner forearm by curling the wrists upward while holding dumbbells with an underhand grip. Performing it in a standing position keeps the forearms under constant tension throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a dumbbell in each hand with palms facing forward and arms hanging at your sides
  • Bend your elbows slightly and brace your forearms against your thighs or keep them free at hip height
  • Let the dumbbells roll down to your fingertips, fully extending the wrists downward
