MediumBicepsFront shoulders

About this exercise

A compound standing movement that combines a neutral-grip hammer curl with an overhead press, training the biceps and front deltoids in one fluid sequence. Holding the dumbbells with a neutral (hammer) grip throughout reduces wrist strain and engages the brachialis alongside the biceps.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart holding a dumbbell in each hand at your sides, palms facing inward (neutral grip)
  • Curl both dumbbells upward toward your shoulders while keeping elbows tucked at your sides
  • At the top of the curl, rotate your palms forward and press the dumbbells overhead until your arms are fully extended
  • Lower the dumbbells back to your shoulders with control, then reverse-curl them back to the starting position
  • Maintain a tall, braced posture throughout and avoid arching the lower back during the press
