About this exercise

A standing hammer curl in which both dumbbells are curled at the same time with a neutral grip. Curling simultaneously keeps the torso braced against the combined load while building the brachialis, brachioradialis and biceps of both arms together.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral grip (palms facing each other), arms fully extended at your sides
  • Keep your elbows pinned close to your torso
  • Curl both dumbbells upward simultaneously by flexing at the elbow
  • Continue until your forearms are vertical and the dumbbells are near shoulder level
  • Squeeze the biceps at the top of the movement
  • Lower the dumbbells slowly back to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
