About this exercise

A standing hammer curl performed one arm at a time in an alternating rhythm, with the palms facing each other throughout. The neutral grip loads the brachialis and brachioradialis alongside the biceps, and alternating arms lets each side work with full focus.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral grip
  • Keep your elbows close to your torso
  • Curl one dumbbell up toward the shoulder while the other arm stays extended
