MediumFront shoulders

About this exercise

A standing shoulder press in which you press one dumbbell overhead at a time while the other remains at shoulder height, alternating sides each rep. The unilateral loading challenges core stability and allows a greater range of motion per arm compared to the bilateral version.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height, palms facing forward
  • Brace your core and keep a slight bend in your knees for stability
  • Press one dumbbell overhead until your arm is fully extended, keeping the other at shoulder height
  • Slowly lower the pressed dumbbell back to shoulder height
  • Immediately press the opposite dumbbell overhead in the same controlled manner
  • Continue alternating sides for the desired number of reps
