About this exercise

The Dumbbell Squeeze Bench Press is a flat bench chest press variation where the two dumbbells are pressed firmly together throughout the entire movement. The constant medial squeeze creates intense isometric tension in the chest, maximizing pectoral activation and the mind-muscle connection.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on a bench and hold a dumbbell in each hand above your chest with a neutral grip
  • Press the dumbbells tightly together so the inner faces are in full contact
  • Maintain that squeezing force throughout the entire set
  • Lower the dumbbells slowly toward your chest while keeping them pressed together
  • Press them back up to the starting position in a controlled arc
  • Keep your shoulder blades retracted and your feet flat on the floor
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps without releasing the squeeze
