About this exercise

The Dumbbell Single Arm Underhand Front Raise targets the anterior deltoid with a supinated grip, which also engages the biceps more than a standard overhand front raise. Working one arm at a time allows for better focus and symmetry correction.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding a dumbbell in one hand with a supinated (underhand/palms-up) grip, arm hanging at your side
  • Keep your core braced and back straight throughout the movement
  • Raise the dumbbell forward in a controlled arc until your arm is roughly parallel to the floor
  • Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower the dumbbell back to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other arm
