About this exercise

A seated shoulder pressing variation that reverses the Arnold press movement, beginning with palms facing away from you and rotating inward as you lower the dumbbells. It targets the front and side deltoids while engaging the rear deltoids and stabilizers through the rotational component.

How to Perform

  • Sit upright on an adjustable bench with a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height, palms facing away from you
  • Press the dumbbells overhead while rotating your palms inward, ending with palms facing you at the top
  • Pause briefly at the top with arms fully extended
  • Lower the dumbbells back to shoulder height while rotating your palms outward to return to the starting position
  • Keep your core braced and back straight throughout the movement
