Dumbbell Prone Incline Twist Curl

Step by step instructions, muscle activation and variants for the Dumbbell Prone Incline Twist Curl.

MediumBiceps

About this exercise

A bicep curl variation performed lying face-down (prone) on an incline bench, where the dumbbells are curled upward with a simultaneous wrist supination (twist). The incline position stretches the biceps at the bottom and isolates them effectively throughout the full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Set an incline bench to approximately 45 degrees and lie face down on it, letting the dumbbells hang at arm's length with a neutral grip (palms facing each other)
  • Keep your chest against the pad and feet secured on the floor or footrest for stability
  • Curl both dumbbells upward toward your shoulders
  • As the dumbbells rise, rotate your wrists outward to a supinated position (palms facing up) at the top
  • Squeeze your biceps at the peak of the movement
  • Slowly lower the dumbbells while rotating back to a neutral grip
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
