About this exercise

A unilateral shoulder press performed in a half-kneeling position, where you press a dumbbell overhead with the arm on the same side as the kneeling knee, creating an anti-lateral-flexion demand on the core and challenging single-side stability.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on one knee with the opposite foot forward in a staggered stance
  • Hold a dumbbell in the hand on the same side as the kneeling knee, at shoulder height
  • Brace your core and keep your torso upright
  • Press the dumbbell straight overhead until your arm is fully extended
  • Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower the dumbbell back to shoulder height
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching knees and repeating
