About this exercise

An Arnold press performed from a tall kneeling position, combining a rotational pressing movement with the added core stability demand of kneeling. The exercise trains the anterior and lateral deltoids through a wide range of motion while eliminating leg drive from the movement.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on the floor (or a mat) with your hips tall, core braced, and glutes engaged
  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height with palms facing your body, as if at the top of a curl
  • Press the dumbbells upward while simultaneously rotating your palms to face forward
  • Fully extend your arms overhead without locking the elbows
  • Reverse the motion by lowering and rotating the dumbbells back to the starting position with palms facing you
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
