About this exercise

The dumbbell kickbacks on exercise ball is a triceps isolation exercise performed with the torso draped over a stability ball. The ball provides support while introducing a mild instability that engages the core, allowing you to focus on full elbow extension and peak triceps contraction.

How to Perform

  • Place a stability ball on the floor and rest your torso over it with your chest facing down
  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand and bring your upper arms close to your sides, parallel to the floor
  • With your elbows bent at 90 degrees, brace your core and keep your back flat
  • Extend both elbows and push the dumbbells straight back until your arms are fully straightened
  • Pause briefly at the top to squeeze the triceps, then slowly return to the starting position under control
  • Keep your upper arms stationary throughout and avoid swinging the weights
