About this exercise

The dumbbell incline two arm extension is a triceps isolation exercise performed lying on an incline bench. Holding a dumbbell in each hand, you lower both arms behind your head simultaneously to stretch the long head of the triceps and then press back up through full elbow extension.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a 30–45 degree incline and lie back on it
  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand and extend both arms straight above your chest, palms facing each other
  • Keeping your upper arms stationary and pointing upward, slowly bend your elbows and lower both dumbbells behind your head
  • Lower until you feel a full stretch in your triceps, keeping your elbows pointing forward
  • Extend your elbows to press both dumbbells back to the starting position
