About this exercise

The dumbbell incline squeeze press is a chest and triceps exercise performed on an incline bench, where the dumbbells are pressed firmly together throughout the entire movement. The constant medial force increases inner chest activation and triceps engagement compared to a standard incline press.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a 30–45° incline and lie back holding a dumbbell in each hand at chest level
  • Press the flat sides of the dumbbells firmly together with the elbows slightly bent
  • While maintaining the squeeze, press the dumbbells straight up until your arms are fully extended overhead
  • Keep the dumbbells pressed together throughout both the press and the lowering phase
  • Lower the dumbbells with control back to chest level while sustaining the inward pressure
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
