About this exercise

A hybrid floor exercise combining a glute bridge hold with a single-arm dumbbell chest press. Maintaining the bridged position engages the glutes and stabilises the hips while the pressing arm works the chest and triceps independently, adding a core anti-rotation challenge.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Hold a dumbbell in one hand at chest level, palm facing your feet
  • Drive through your heels to raise your hips into a glute bridge and hold the position
  • Press the dumbbell straight up until your arm is fully extended
  • Lower the dumbbell back to chest level with control
  • Keep your hips elevated and level throughout the entire set
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch arms
