About this exercise

An advanced floor exercise pairing a single-leg glute bridge with a dumbbell chest press performed on the opposite (contralateral) arm. The cross-body loading pattern demands significant anti-rotation core stability alongside chest and glute strength.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with both knees bent and feet flat on the floor
  • Hold a dumbbell in one hand at chest level
  • Extend the leg on the same side as the pressing arm straight out along the floor
  • Drive through the heel of your planted foot to raise your hips into a single-leg glute bridge
  • While maintaining the bridge, press the dumbbell straight up until your arm is fully extended
  • Lower the dumbbell with control back to chest level
  • Keep your hips level and core braced throughout each rep
  • Complete all reps, then switch sides
