The Dumbbell Close-Grip Curl is a biceps isolation exercise performed with the hands positioned close together, shifting emphasis toward the inner biceps head and increasing the peak contraction at the top of the movement. It is performed standing with both dumbbells curled simultaneously.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright holding two dumbbells in front of your thighs with palms facing up and hands close together
  • Keep your elbows close to your sides throughout the movement
  • Curl both dumbbells upward toward your shoulders in a smooth arc
  • Squeeze the biceps hard at the top of the movement
  • Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
