About this exercise

The Dumbbell Bosu Ball Goblet Squat combines a classic goblet squat with standing on the unstable dome of a Bosu ball, dramatically increasing core and stabiliser muscle engagement. Holding a dumbbell vertically at chest height encourages an upright torso and a balanced, deep squat pattern.

How to Perform

  • Place the Bosu ball dome-side up and stand on its centre with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Hold a dumbbell vertically with both hands cupped around one end at chest height
  • Brace your core and keep your chest tall throughout the movement
  • Squat down by pushing your knees outward and sitting your hips back until your thighs reach parallel to the floor
  • Pause briefly at the bottom
  • Drive through your heels to return to standing
  • Maintain balance on the Bosu ball throughout every rep
