About this exercise

A high-intensity bodyweight exercise that combines two plank jacks with four mountain climbers in a continuous sequence, maximally engaging the core, shoulders, and legs. The combination builds cardiovascular endurance, core stability, and total-body conditioning.

How to Perform

  • Start in a high plank position with hands directly under your shoulders and body in a straight line
  • Jump both feet out wide simultaneously (first plank jack), then jump them back together
  • Repeat for a second plank jack
  • Immediately drive your right knee toward your chest, then your left knee, repeating for a total of four alternating mountain climber reps
  • Keep your hips level and avoid letting them rise or sag throughout the movement
  • Maintain a quick, controlled tempo and breathe steadily
