About this exercise

The assisted triceps dip uses a counterweight machine to reduce the load, isolating the triceps with an upright torso while you build the strength needed for full bodyweight dips.

How to Perform

  • Set the desired counterweight and kneel or step onto the machine's support pad
  • Grip the dip handles with your arms extended and your torso upright
  • Lower your body by bending your elbows, keeping them tucked close to your sides
  • Descend until your elbows reach about a 90-degree angle
  • Press back up by straightening your arms and squeezing your triceps
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
