About this exercise

The decline push-up against wall is a bodyweight exercise where the feet are placed high on a wall to create a decline angle, shifting the focus to the upper chest and front shoulders. The wall provides a stable surface for the feet while you perform the push-up on the floor below.

How to Perform

  • Stand facing away from a wall and place both feet against it at hip-to-chest height
  • Walk your hands out until your body forms a straight diagonal line with feet elevated
  • Position your hands slightly wider than shoulder-width on the floor
  • Brace your core and maintain a neutral spine throughout the movement
  • Lower your chest toward the floor by bending your elbows to about 90 degrees
  • Press through your palms to push back up to full arm extension
