About this exercise

The decline rotational sit-up targets the obliques while also engaging the abs and core, building rotational strength and definition through the midsection.

How to Perform

  • Secure your legs at the top of a decline bench and lie back with your hands by your temples or crossed over your chest
  • Engage your core and curl your torso up off the bench
  • As you rise, rotate your trunk to bring one shoulder toward the opposite knee
  • Pause and squeeze your obliques at the top of the movement
  • Lower yourself back down under control to the starting position
  • Repeat to the opposite side, alternating with each repetition
