About this exercise

A dynamic plyometric combination that pairs a curtsey lunge with an alternating cross punch. The movement challenges the glutes, quads, and core while adding an upper-body conditioning element, making it a full-body cardio and functional exercise.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart and fists raised in a guard position
  • Step one foot diagonally behind the other leg, lowering into a curtsey lunge
  • As you lower into the lunge, throw a cross punch with the opposite arm across your body
  • Push through your front foot to return to standing
  • Alternate sides — curtsey lunge on the other leg with the opposite cross punch
  • Keep your torso upright and core engaged throughout
  • Move at a brisk, controlled pace and maintain balance before each lunge
