Cross Climber on a Padded Stool is an elevated mountain climber variation performed with hands on the stool and knees driving diagonally across the body to the opposite elbow. The cross-body knee drive intensifies oblique and core engagement compared to a standard mountain climber.

How to Perform

  • Place both hands on the padded stool and extend your legs into a high plank position
  • Brace your core and keep your hips level with your shoulders
  • Drive your right knee diagonally toward your left elbow
  • Return the right foot and immediately drive your left knee toward your right elbow
  • Continue alternating in a controlled, rhythmic manner
  • Keep your back flat and avoid letting your hips rise or drop throughout the movement
