About this exercise

A bodyweight squat variation performed with feet close together or touching, which shifts emphasis onto the quadriceps and challenges ankle mobility and balance. The narrow stance also increases demand on the knee stabilizers and requires a more upright torso to maintain balance.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet close together, toes pointing slightly outward
  • Keep your chest up, spine neutral, and extend arms forward for balance
  • Lower your body by bending at the hips and knees until thighs are as close to parallel with the floor as possible
  • Drive through both feet to return to the standing position
  • Keep your knees tracking over your toes throughout the movement and avoid letting heels rise
