About this exercise

A dynamic core exercise performed in an elevated plank position with hands resting on a padded stool. Elevating the hands reduces shoulder loading and makes the movement more accessible, while the alternating knee drive still effectively challenges the abs and core.

How to Perform

  • Place your hands on the edge of a padded stool, slightly wider than shoulder-width apart
  • Walk your feet back until your body forms a straight line from head to heels
  • Brace your core and keep your hips level with your shoulders
  • Drive your right knee toward your chest in a controlled manner
  • Return your right foot to the start position as you simultaneously drive your left knee in
  • Alternate legs in a smooth, continuous rhythm
  • Keep your lower back flat and avoid letting your hips rise or sag
  • Continue for the desired number of repetitions or time
