About this exercise

A push-up variation where you briefly tap your chest with one hand at the top of each repetition, requiring extra shoulder stability and core control to prevent the hips from rotating. Alternating which hand taps ensures balanced development across both sides.

How to Perform

  • Start in a high plank position with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width and body in a straight line
  • Lower your chest toward the floor in a controlled push-up
  • Press back up explosively to the starting position
  • At the top, lift one hand off the floor and tap your chest, keeping your hips level
