About this exercise

Celebratory knee drives are a high-energy plyometric exercise in which you explosively jump and drive both knees up toward the chest in a repeated, powerful motion resembling a celebratory jumping action. They develop explosive lower body power, cardiovascular conditioning, and coordination.

How to Perform

  • Stand with your feet hip-width apart, arms relaxed at your sides
  • Bend your knees slightly and load your hips to prepare for an explosive jump
  • Explosively jump upward, simultaneously driving both knees up toward your chest as high as possible
  • Swing your arms upward to help generate momentum and height
  • Land softly on the balls of your feet with knees slightly bent to absorb the impact
  • Immediately reload and explode into the next repetition with minimal ground contact time
  • Maintain an upright torso and engaged core throughout each rep
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
