About this exercise

A cable-resisted abdominal exercise that adds progressive overload to the standard reverse crunch. Tucking the knees toward the chest targets the lower abs while reducing hip flexor dominance.

How to Perform

  • Attach ankle straps to a low cable pulley and secure them around your ankles
  • Lie on your back on the floor with your feet toward the machine and knees bent
  • Grip a sturdy anchor — such as a bench leg or the machine frame — behind your head for stability
  • Brace your core and pull your knees into your chest, curling your hips off the floor
  • Hold the contraction briefly at the top
  • Slowly lower your legs back to the starting position under control
