About this exercise

The cable triceps pushdown with an SZ bar uses the curved bar attachment on a high pulley to isolate the triceps with constant tension while reducing wrist strain. The SZ bar provides a more ergonomic hand position compared to a straight bar, making it a comfortable and effective triceps isolation exercise.

How to Perform

  • Attach the SZ bar to the high pulley cable
  • Stand facing the machine with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Grasp the SZ bar with an overhand grip, hands close together at approximately chest height
  • Tuck your elbows firmly at your sides and keep them stationary throughout
  • Press the bar downward until your arms are fully extended
  • Squeeze your triceps at the bottom of the movement
  • Slowly return the bar to the starting position, controlling the weight on the way up
