About this exercise

The cable standing wrist curl targets the forearm flexors using constant tension provided by a low pulley cable. The continuous resistance throughout the full range of motion makes this variation particularly effective for building strength and size in the inner forearm muscles.

How to Perform

  • Attach a straight bar to a low pulley cable machine and stand facing the machine
  • Grasp the bar with an underhand (palms-up) grip, hands shoulder-width apart
  • Step back slightly so your arms hang in front of your thighs with the cable taut
  • Allow your wrists to drop toward the floor to fully stretch the forearm flexors
  • Curl your wrists upward as far as possible, squeezing the forearm flexors at the top
  • Lower the bar back slowly under control to the starting position
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
