About this exercise

Cable Standing Upright Crossovers are a chest exercise performed standing upright between two low cable pulleys, bringing the handles upward and crossing them in front of the body. This movement targets the middle and upper chest fibers through a full range of motion with constant cable tension.

How to Perform

  • Stand in the center of a cable crossover machine and attach a D-handle to each low pulley
  • Grasp both handles and step forward slightly to put tension on the cables
  • Stand upright with a slight forward lean and a soft bend in the elbows
  • Start with your arms extended out and slightly downward at your sides
  • Sweep both arms upward and inward in a wide arc, crossing the handles in front of your chest
  • Squeeze the chest muscles firmly at the peak of the movement
