About this exercise

A standing cable chest fly performed with a neutral (palms-facing) grip, using the cable crossover machine set at mid-height. The neutral hand position reduces stress on the shoulder joints while keeping constant tension on the chest throughout the movement.

How to Perform

  • Set both pulleys to chest height on the cable crossover machine and attach single-D handles
  • Stand in the centre of the machine with one foot slightly forward for balance
  • Grasp a handle in each hand with palms facing each other (neutral grip) and step forward
  • Extend your arms out to the sides with a slight bend at the elbows
  • Exhale and bring both hands together in front of your chest in a wide arcing motion
  • Squeeze your chest at the point of contraction
  • Slowly return your arms to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
