About this exercise

A standing cable fly variation where each arm alternates through the fly motion, keeping the chest under continuous tension while allowing independent work for each side. The standing position also engages the core and stabilizing muscles.

How to Perform

  • Stand in the center of a cable crossover machine with the pulleys set to chest height
  • Grip a handle in each hand and extend your arms out to the sides with a slight bend in the elbows
  • Bring one arm in a wide arc across your chest to the center, squeezing the pec at full contraction
  • Slowly return that arm to the starting position
  • Perform the same arc with the opposite arm
  • Continue alternating arms in a controlled, rhythmic pattern throughout the set
