About this exercise

A unilateral cable front raise performed with a neutral (hammer) grip to isolate the anterior deltoid with constant tension throughout the movement. Using a low pulley keeps resistance consistent at both the bottom and top of the arc, unlike a free-weight version.

How to Perform

  • Attach a single D-handle to a low pulley and stand facing away from the cable machine
  • Grasp the handle with a neutral grip (thumb up), arm hanging at your side
  • Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart and a slight bend in the working elbow
  • Brace your core and raise the arm straight forward to shoulder height, keeping the thumb pointing up
  • Pause briefly at the top and control the descent back to the start
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
