About this exercise

A unilateral pulling exercise performed on the high cable pulley that targets the lats and rear deltoid through a downward and rearward arc. The single-arm setup allows each side to work independently, making it effective for correcting muscle imbalances.

How to Perform

  • Attach a single-D handle to the high pulley and stand facing the machine
  • Grasp the handle with one hand and step back until your arm is extended overhead at an angle
  • Hinge slightly at the hips, stagger your stance, and brace your core
  • Pull the handle down and toward your hip, driving your elbow back and down
  • Squeeze your lat at the end of the pull
  • Slowly return the handle to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
