About this exercise

The Cable Seated Unilateral Bicep Curl is performed sitting in front of a low cable pulley, curling one arm at a time. The seated position limits body momentum while the cable maintains constant tension through the full range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Set a bench in front of a low cable pulley and attach a single-D handle
  • Sit upright on the bench with feet flat on the floor, grasping the handle in one hand with a supinated (palms-up) grip
  • Keep your elbow pinned to your side and curl the handle up toward your shoulder in a controlled arc
  • Squeeze the bicep at the top of the movement, holding briefly
  • Lower the handle slowly back to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
