About this exercise

The Cable Seated on Floor Row with Rope is a back exercise performed sitting directly on the floor with legs extended, using a low-pulley cable and rope attachment. The floor-seated position increases the range of motion through a full hip-hinge component and places direct emphasis on the lats, rhomboids, and upper back muscles.

How to Perform

  • Set the cable pulley to the lowest position and attach a rope handle
  • Sit on the floor facing the machine with your legs extended and knees slightly bent
  • Lean forward slightly and grasp both ends of the rope with a neutral grip
  • Sit tall and brace your core before initiating the pull
  • Drive your elbows back and squeeze your shoulder blades together as you pull the rope toward your lower sternum
  • Hold the contraction for a moment, then slowly extend your arms back to the starting position
