About this exercise

The cable one arm tricep pushdown is a unilateral isolation exercise targeting the triceps using a high cable pulley and a single D-handle. Training one arm at a time helps correct muscle imbalances and allows greater focus on each side independently.

How to Perform

  • Attach a single D-handle to a high cable pulley
  • Stand facing the machine and grasp the handle with one hand using an overhand grip
  • Position your upper arm close to your torso and keep it stationary throughout the movement
  • Push the handle downward by fully extending your elbow
  • Squeeze the triceps firmly at the bottom of the movement
  • Slowly return the handle to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one arm, then switch to the other
