About this exercise

The Cable One-Arm Reverse Fly isolates the rear deltoids and upper back using a single cable handle. You stand facing the machine and pull the handle across the body in a wide arc, targeting the posterior shoulder and helping correct left-to-right imbalances.

How to Perform

  • Set the cable pulley to shoulder height and attach a single D-handle
  • Stand facing the machine and grip the handle with the opposite hand (cross-body grip)
  • Step back to create tension, place your free hand on your hip, and keep a slight bend in your elbow
  • Pull the handle out and away from the machine in a wide arc until your arm is in line with your shoulder
  • Squeeze your rear deltoid and upper back at the end of the movement
  • Slowly return to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch sides
