About this exercise

A unilateral chest exercise performed bent over at the hips, drawing a low cable handle forward and across the front of the body in a wide arc. The hinged torso and crossover path load the mid and upper chest, while the cable keeps constant tension through the entire range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Set a cable pulley to the lowest position and attach a single D-handle
  • Grip the handle with the arm nearest the machine and step out to create tension
  • Stand sideways to the machine with a staggered stance and hinge forward at the hips, knees slightly bent
  • Let the working arm extend back toward the pulley until you feel a stretch across your chest
  • Keeping a slight bend in the elbow, sweep the handle forward and across the front of your body in a wide arc
  • Squeeze your chest as your hand crosses toward the opposite side
  • Slowly return along the same arc to the stretched starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
